He Keeps Your Tears
A 4-week Bible study on grief for women. Ten minutes a day.
Someone you love is gone, and the world went back to normal without you. This study does not try to move you along. It walks you through four weeks of passages where grieving people say exactly how bad it is and God does not flinch: Martha at her brother's grave, Job's friends sitting silent on the ground for seven days, a psalm that ends in the dark and is still in the Bible. Ten minutes a day, for the woman carrying a loss nobody else can see.

What this is, and what it is not
This is a Bible study. It is not counseling and it is not medical care. It is not a substitute for a doctor, a grief counselor, or a qualified mental health professional. It makes no promise about how you will feel, it puts no timeline on your grief, and it never tells you what your loss was for.
If you are thinking about hurting yourself or ending your life, please reach out for help right now, before you do anything else on this page. In the United States, call or text 988. Outside the United States, use findahelpline.com. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest emergency department. Tell a trusted person near you.
The same page sits near the front of the study itself, and the leader guide quotes it back to the leader.
What's inside
Each week has five study days, a memory verse day, and a reflection day. Every study day follows the same four moves: Read a passage, Notice what is actually in the text with three questions, Respond in the writing space, and Pray from a starting line you finish in your own words.
| Week | Where the week takes you | Memory verse |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Permission to Grieve. Scripture does not hurry you, and neither does this week. Psalm 34, Martha saying it to His face, Jesus weeping at a grave He was about to open, and seven silent days in Job | Psalms 34:18 |
| 2 | The Questions. The Bible keeps the hard ones on the page, unanswered. Psalm 13, the psalm that ends in the dark, Psalm 77, and a prophet who complains and then stands at his guard post | Psalms 13:5-6 |
| 3 | Carried. Who holds you up when you cannot hold yourself up. Carried since birth in Isaiah 46, the valley in Psalm 23, your tears kept in Psalm 56, and the Spirit praying the prayer you cannot get out | Psalms 23:4 |
| 4 | Hope That Does Not Rush You. Hope that sits beside the grief instead of ending it. 1 Thessalonians 4, a place prepared in John 14, the last enemy named in 1 Corinthians 15, and the list in Romans 8 that includes death | 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 |
Near, Now, Not Later
Week 1 Day 1 starts where you already are. Psalm 34 is a song about God rescuing people, and right in the middle of it sits a line about the ones who have not been rescued yet...
“The LORD is near to the brokenhearted; He saves the contrite in spirit.”
Psalms 34:18 (BSB)
Notice the tense. He is near. Not He will be near once you are further along, and not He was near when it happened. The study asks you to sit with that word and nothing else for one day...

Who this is for
It is for you if people have stopped asking how you are. If you are tired of being handed a verse as though it settles something. If your faith and your grief are both real at the same time and nobody around you seems to know what to do with that. It works on your own, and it works with a group of women who have all lost someone.
Leading a group?
The $44 leader kit was built so you can say yes to leading without a seminary shelf. You get the full-text edition (nobody has to bring a Bible or find the page), a leader guide that tells you exactly how to run each week, four discussion scripts with time cues, a flyer and two graphics to invite with, and a license to print everything for up to 12 women. It also has a page called "A note on tender ground" about what to do when a woman in the room says something heavy. Read that page before your first meeting.
Start free, if that is where you are
A 30-day scripture writing plan for grief: one verse a day to copy out by hand. Free to print, no email, no account. Day 30 is not a finish line, and the page says so.
Questions women ask
Do I need any Bible background?
No. Every day tells you exactly what to read, and the three questions only ever ask you to notice what is on the page in front of you. Nothing assumes you have done a study before.
How much time does it take each day?
About ten minutes. Five study days a week, a short memory verse day, and a reflection day that is mostly rest. On the days ten minutes is too much, read the passage and stop.
Is it too soon for me to do this?
Only you can answer that, and there is no wrong answer. The study does not start you anywhere you have to be ready for. Week 1 is called Permission to Grieve, and it opens with Scripture that sits on the ground beside you instead of asking you to get up.
Does the study say my grief will get better?
No. It makes no promise about how you will feel, it gives grief no timeline, and it never tells you what your loss was for. It shows you what the Bible actually says about God and about grieving people, including the parts that stay hard, and lets that be what it is.
Is this counseling or grief therapy?
No. This is a Bible study, not counseling and not medical care. It does not diagnose anything and it is not a substitute for a doctor, a grief counselor, or a qualified mental health professional. Use it alongside the care you need, not instead of it.
What if I am not okay right now?
There is a short page near the front of the study called "If you are in crisis" that names where to go. If you are thinking about hurting yourself or ending your life, please get help now. In the United States, call or text 988. Outside the United States, use findahelpline.com. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number. Tell a trusted person near you.
What Bible translation does it use?
The Berean Standard Bible. Every quote is machine-checked word for word against the published text. Nothing is paraphrased and nothing is AI-written. You can use any Bible you love alongside it, or choose the full-text edition and skip the lookups.
Do I need to print it?
No. You get a print-friendly PDF (light on ink) and a color screen edition for phone or tablet. The writing space works in GoodNotes and similar apps.
What if I fall behind?
Nothing breaks. Pick up where you left off, or start the week again. A missed day is not a failed study.
Can I share it with my group?
The $13.99 and $23.99 editions are for your personal use. The $44 leader kit includes a license to print for up to 12 women.
Refunds?
If the study is not what you hoped, reply to your receipt email within 30 days and we will refund you. No forms, no argument.
