Lie Down in Peace
A 4-week Bible study on anxiety and peace for women. Ten minutes a day.
Your body is tired and your mind will not stop. You lie down, and the list starts. This study sits with you in the parts of the Bible written by people who could not sleep either: a king begging God to hear him, a psalmist awake through the watches of the night, and a Savior who called the weary to Himself. Four weeks, ten minutes a day, written for the woman whose mind runs loudest at 2am.

What this is, and what it is not
This is a Bible study. It is not counseling and it is not medical care. It does not diagnose anything, it gives no symptom advice, and it never asks you to choose it instead of a doctor or a qualified mental health professional. It also never tells you that anxiety is a faith problem you should repent of.
If you are thinking about hurting yourself or ending your life, please get help right now, before anything else. In the United States, call or text 988. Outside the United States, use findahelpline.com. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest emergency department. Tell a trusted person near you. The same page sits near the front of the study itself.
What's inside
Each week has five study days, a memory verse day, and a reflection day. Every study day follows the same four moves: Read a passage, Notice what is actually in the text with three questions, Respond in the writing space, and Pray from a starting line you finish in your own words.
| Week | Where the week takes you | Memory verse |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Cast It. What to do with the weight before you do anything else. Psalm 55, 1 Peter 5, Philippians 4, and the invitation in Matthew 11 | 1 Peter 5:7 |
| 2 | He Keeps You. Who is awake and watching while you worry. Psalm 121, Isaiah 26, the birds and the lilies in Matthew 6, and Psalm 34 | Isaiah 26:3 |
| 3 | In the Night. The 2am week. Psalm 4 on your bed, the 3am questions of Psalm 77, Psalm 63 through the watches of the night, and Psalm 130 waiting for morning | Psalms 4:8 |
| 4 | Peace That Guards. What God's peace actually is, and what it does. John 14, Isaiah 41, Philippians 4, and an honest word about trouble in John 16 | Philippians 4:6-7 |
On Your Bed, and Still
The week the study calls "In the night" is built for the hours you already know. Psalm 4 is a short prayer from a man with enemies and no answers yet, and it ends with a line women have held onto in the dark for three thousand years...
“I will lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.”
Psalms 4:8 (BSB)
Read the last half of the verse before the first half. The reason he can lie down is not that the trouble ended. It is who is keeping him while it goes on. The study asks you to notice that order, because it is the whole psalm...

Who this is for
It is for you if your mind starts running the second the house goes quiet. If you have read Philippians 4:6 and felt scolded by it. If you are tired of being told to just have more faith. If you want to sit with Scripture honestly for ten minutes and not be handed a formula. It works on your own at the kitchen table, and it works with a group in a living room.
Leading a group?
The $44 leader kit was built so you can say yes to leading without a seminary shelf. You get the full-text edition (nobody has to bring a Bible or keep up), a leader guide that tells you exactly how to run each week, four discussion scripts with time cues, a flyer and two graphics to invite with, and a license to print everything for up to 12 women. The guide also has a page called "A note on tender ground" about what to do when a woman in your group says something heavy. Read that page before your first meeting.
Not sure yet? Start free.
Two free printables for the same season, both with no email wall: nine verse cards to cut out and put where the worry happens, and a 30-day scripture writing plan for an anxious heart.
Questions women ask
Do I need any Bible background?
No. Every day tells you exactly what to read, and the three questions only ever ask you to notice what is on the page in front of you. Nothing assumes you have done a study before.
How much time does it take each day?
About ten minutes. Five study days a week, a short memory verse day, and a reflection day that is mostly rest.
Is this counseling or treatment for anxiety?
No. This is a Bible study, not counseling and not medical care. It does not diagnose anything, it does not give symptom advice, and it is not a substitute for a doctor or a qualified mental health professional. Use it alongside the care you need, not instead of it.
Will this make my anxiety go away?
We will not tell you that. No study can promise you calm, or sleep, or four weeks to a quieter mind, and we do not make that promise anywhere in the book. What this does is sit with you in the parts of the Bible written by people whose minds would not rest either, and show you what those passages actually say.
What if I am having a really bad night?
There is a short page near the front of the study called "If you are in crisis" that names where to go. If you are thinking about hurting yourself or ending your life, please get help now. In the United States, call or text 988. Outside the United States, use findahelpline.com. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number. Tell a trusted person near you.
What Bible translation does it use?
The Berean Standard Bible. Every quote is machine-checked word for word against the published text. Nothing is paraphrased and nothing is AI-written. You can use any Bible you love alongside it, or choose the full-text edition and skip the lookups.
Do I need to print it?
No. You get a print-friendly PDF (light on ink) and a color screen edition for phone or tablet. The writing space works in GoodNotes and similar apps.
What if I fall behind?
Nothing breaks. Pick up where you left off. A missed day is not a failed study.
Can I share it with my group?
The $13.99 and $23.99 editions are for your personal use. The $44 leader kit includes a license to print for up to 12 women.
Refunds?
If the study is not what you hoped, reply to your receipt email within 30 days and we will refund you. No forms, no argument.
